AgriSmart: Intelligent Technologies for Sustainable and Educational Agriculture
* This topic is related to COP16 goal 20.
The AgriSmart project revolutionizes agriculture in Valle del Cauca by integrating a patented biosensor to monitor CO2 and other environmental signals. Data collected in real-time is fed into an AI model to predict critical variables for optimal plant growth. XR technologies provide immersive educational experiences, training farmers in efficient resource use. This project enhances productivity, reduces losses, and promotes sustainable practices, improving local food security and the agricultural economy.
Success story
Research
The university has developed an enzymatic biosensor to measure CO2 with precision in ppm, applicable in industry, mining, and agriculture. This innovation reduces the carbon footprint and improves environmental quality. AI complements this biosensor by providing recommendations for environmental and agricultural management, demonstrating the institution’s commitment to environmental sustainability.
